We may not be aware of surface differences, but puppies are. For example, if they become familiar with the flooring in their own home, but not with anything else that is different, that can create worry when they encounter new surfaces. We can help them become more comfortable when faced with new flooring at the veterinary office, the training center, or when just out and about enjoying life.<\/span><\/p>\n\n<ul>\n \t<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Be proactive and reward with treats to make these experiences positive from the start.<\/span><\/li>\n \t<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Toss several treats on the surface encourage puppies to explore at their own pace.<\/span><\/li>\n \t<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Be aware of the puppies \u2019 body language to be sure they are having a positive experience.\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n \t<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Puppies may find some surfaces uncomfortable.
