Behaviors that require holding a position for a longer length of time can be challenging for many dogs. Then build the duration one second at a time. If your dog gets up before the click, go back to a shorter interval and add one second at a time until your dog is successful. In this video, KPA CTP Logan Buie is working with her dog, JJ, on building duration in muzzle training. JJ is already comfortable placing his face in the muzzle, so now they are working on holding that position for longer periods of time.
